The Castle was completed in 1908 for James Dunsmuir the son of Robert Dunsmuir of Craigdarroch Castle
James is quoted as saying, "Money doesn't matter, just build what I want."
You will explore the grounds of this beautiful estate. The gardens are renowned and part of this national heritage site. The views are spectacular with rolling lawns meeting the ocean.

The interior is in use by the University
Was built in 1860 as the first permanent lighthouse on Canada’s west coast. You’ll have time to view the exhibits and video station in the former keeper’s house. The view is incredible.
Fort Rodd Hill: a coast artillery fort built in the late 1890s to defend Victoria and the Esquimalt Naval Base.
You’ll have time to explore both the Lighthouse and Fort. Great place to eat your lunch and take fabulous pictures!
